Description |
English: A copper alloy hair pin that belongs to group 6 on cools' (1990) article on metal hair pins of Southern Britain. The group belongs to the second half of the first century and the the early second century and the distribution is concentrated in eastern England with relatively few in the west(Cool, 1990; 157).
The pin itself has a gradually tapering shank which is divided from the head by a set of two grooves forming one cordon. The head is button shaped, the diameter of which is roughly twice that of the shank. The diameter of the head measures 7.06mm, whilst diameter of the shank is 2.87mm. |
