Title
A Roman incomplete cast copper alloy zoomorphic plate brooch.
Description
English: A Roman incomplete cast copper alloy zoomorphic (quadruped) plate brooch. The form is unknown due to the damage. It probably dates from the second century AD. The fragment consists of a rectangular arm with the remains of the hinge on the rear at the top. At the opposite end on the rear are the remains of the catch plate. The pin is missing. The bottom of the arm widens out but is damaged on both sides to give any recognisable shape. There are traces of silvering on the front.

The fragment measures 21.3mm long, 13.9mm wide, 2.1mm thick, (8.4mm thick at catch plate). It weighs 1.63 grams.
