| Description | A local lady wearing a Vietnamese style conical hat crosses our path at a rather leisurely pace, unmindful of us speeding along and went on to the other side of the river. A few tense moments there, for me at least! Her boat was fully loaded, and she was hauling, what else, but palm oil fruit for crushing! The confounded palm oil plantation on a large scale are the primary reason for the destruction of large tracts of pristine rainforest. Reminded me of a quote I'd read in the Singapore zoo in 2009: Only when the last tree has been cut down, only when the last fish has been caught, only when the last river has been poisoned, only then you will realize that money cannot be eaten.
