Title
A cast copper alloy Roman furniture fitting
Description
English: A complete cast coppar alloy Roman circular 'bell-shaped stud'. It is bell shaped with a rectangular handle/shaft set on the top, which has a perfortation at the top. There is a small moulded collar between the stud and the base of the handle. The base is circular, and bell shaped, but shallow; in it's centre, there is a small round central protrusion. It is in good condition, with a light green patina It measures 41.47 mm L x 24.17 mm DIA (of the bell) x 9.14 mm W (of shaft) x 4.02 mm TH and weighs 25.46 g.

This was most likely used on a lock fitting of a chest or box.

Similar studs can be seen on the database DUR-29BDC5, SUR-8356A5, and NMS-C79A34.
