Title
A cast lead token dating to the seventeenth century.
Description
English: A cast lead token dating to the 17th century (thickness: 1.8mm; diameter: 26.5mm; weight: 6.83g). The token is only decotated on one surface with four petals, a cross bar running across the diameter and six pellets in between. The reverse is plain.

Similar examples are illustrated in Mitchiner & Skinner's paper 'English Tokens, c.1425 to 1672' in The British Numismatic Journal, Volume 54, 1984, pages 140 & 163 (plate 22), ref nos 47, 48 & 49. These examples have been dated between c. 1650-75 and were found from the Thames area, London.
