Summary[edit]

Description A closer look at the finished product- fresh tea just off the production line. This is CTC tea, and so what you see in tea granules and not tea leaves. The process involves crushing, tearing and curling (hence CTC) and then oxidiaing the stuff before cooling the finished product in large rotary drums like this. You could still feel the heat of the fresh tea inside. The tea granules still look brown but soon turn black before the process is complete. (Vagamon/ Munnar Tea Estates, Kerala, India, Apr. 2016)
