Summary

[edit]
Author
Willem Van de Velde, the Younger
Description
English: A galjoot in a gale

This drawing, which is rubbed, is included in Robinson’s catalogue with less certainty than other drawings on blue-grey paper thought to be by van de Velde. There is therefore a possibility that the drawing may be by another artist such as Samuel Scott who made similar drawings on blue-grey paper, some of which are in the National Maritime Museum’s collection. The drawing is unsigned.
