Summary[edit]
DescriptionA mortarium kitchen pot (left) and a large storage jar (right) from the Roman settlement of Nidum (Neath), Wales.jpg |
English: A mortarium kitchen pot (left) and a large storage jar (right) from the Roman fort of Nidum (Neath), Wales. Nidum was the Roman name for their fort at Neath. This mortarium kitchen pot, which has been pieced back together, was found there. Grit was baked into the clay to make a rough surface so it would be easier to break up food with a pestle. These shards of a large storage jars were also found at Nidum, and pieced together to show the shape of this large storage jar. They are from the collection of Swansea Museum, Wales. |
