Title
A nearly complete knapped flint barbed and tanged arrowhead of Late Neolithic or Early Bronze Age date (c. 2500-1500 BC).
Description
English:

A nearly complete knapped flint barbed and tanged arrowhead of Late Neolithic or Early Bronze Age date (c. 2500-1500 BC). The arrowhead is a light greyish brown in colour. It is sub-triangular in plane, with both barbs and tangs, although there may be a small amount of damage to the end of the barbs. The arrowhead has been intensely pressure-flaked in order to thin and shape the piece. A small piece of the tip is missing. The tang is squared-off and fairly short and squat, One barb is the same level as the tang the other is slightly shorter. The possible loss of the end of the barbs makes it difficult to securely assign the arrowhead to a formal type but it is probably a Green Low or Conygar Hill type. For related types of arrowheads cf. Butler (2005) pp162-165.Figs.68-69.

The arrowhead measures 27.8mm long, 23.7mm wide and 4.1mm thick. The tang is 6.2mm long and 5.9mm wide. The artefact weighs 1.69 grams.
