Description
English: Fleuron from book:
A new and easy introduction to universal geography; in a series of letters to a youth at school: describing The Figure, Motions, and Dimensions of the Earth; the different Seasons of the Year; the Situation and Extent of the several Empires, Kingdoms, States, and Provinces; their Government, Customs, Religion, Manners, and the Characters of the reigning Sovereigns. By the Rev. R. Turner, Jun. LL.D. late of Magdalen-Hall, Oxford. Illustrated with copper-plates, and a new set of maps, Drawn and engraved by the best Artists, on Purpose for this Work. Improved and considerably enlarged. To which is added, a large map of the world, in which are delineated the different Tracks of Captain Cook's Ship, in his three Voyages round the World. Also a plate of the terrestrial Globe, And a Plate of a new and curious Geographical Clock.
