Title
A penny of Henry II
Description
English: A voided short cross penny of Henry II dating to c.1180-89.

The obverse depicts a forward facing bust which has largely been obscured. The legend reads HENRI...

The reverse depicts a voided short cross with a quartrefoil in each quarter. Much of the legend has been obscured however it is possible to discern the letter OW after a cross pattee initial mark. This suggests the moneyer was Owein of Oxford.
