a post medieval, double loop, trapezoidal buckle
Description
English: A cast copper alloy, double loop, trapezoidal buckle with openwork frame, dating from about 1620-1680. The outer edge of each loop has a fleur de lis protrusion and is pierced with two rectangular holes. There are ovoid knops on the angles of the frame and a protrusion at either end of the strap bar. The pin is missing. See Whitehead, Buckles 1250 - 1800, p. 85, No. 534. A matching example is SWYOR-20E9A1.
