a post medieval bell fragment
Description
English: A fragment from the rim of a cast, copper alloy clapper bell, probably of post-medieval date, 1500-1800AD. The fragment has a raised, hemispherical ridge running around the circumference of the bell 7.2mm in from the rim. There are striations visible above the ridge and in the same plane. The fragment has a smooth, dark green patina. It is 47mm long, 24.4mm wide and 4.3mm thick. It weighs 15.03gm.
