Description
English: A ship close-hauled in a strong breeze

To the left, a lee bow view of a ship close hauled on the starboard tack. Her mizzen is set, her main topsail lowered right down on the cap and her fore course is being clewed up. In the right background, a ship close-hauled on the port tack under fore course, mizzen and main topsail.

This drawing by the Younger is signed in brown ink ‘W.V.VJ.’ It is in black chalk on grey paper with touches of white.
