These amazing fish are Arctic Grayling collected in our fish trap during the 2013 monitoring season. The sampling and monitoring methods utilized by Montana Fish and Wildlife Conservation Office employ a full-channel seasonal weir to temporarily detain migrating fish allowing us to assess fish population trends. This trapping effort is located on Red Rock Creek, Red Rock Lakes National Wildlife Refuge, Montana, and is a collaborative effort among Refuges and Fish and Aquatic Conservation; sister divisions of the US Fish and Wildlife Service.
