Eesti: Hetman Mazepa peegel ja arvelaud. 18. saj algus (?). Puit, nahk, klaas, luu. Legendi järgi olevat karp võetud Ivan Mazepa (1639-1709) telgist pärast Poltaava lahingut 1709. aastal. Puidust karbis on raamitud peegel ning valgest ja punasest luust kettakestega arvelaud. Mazepa sooviks oli Ukraina alade ühendamine ühtseks riigiks. Põhjasõja ajal toetas ta alguses Venemaad, ent siis vahetas poolt ning kaptas koos Rootsi vägedega Poltaava lahingu.
English: A mirror and abacus belonging to Hetman Mazepa. Early 18-th c.? Wood, leather, glass, bone. According to legend, the box was taken from Ivan Mazepa's (1639-1709) tent after Battle of Poltava in 1709. The wooden box has a framed mirror and an abacus with beads made of white and red bone. Mazepa wanted to unite Ukrainian territories into a single state. During the Great Northern War he initially supported Russia, but later changed sides and lost the Battle of Poltava alongside Swedish troops.
Русский: Зеркало и счёты, принадлежавшие гетману Мазепе. Начало XVIII века (?) Дерево, кожа, стекло, кость. По легенде, коробочка получена из палатки Ивана Мазепы (1639-1709) после Полтавской битвы 1709 года. Деревяная коробочка имеет обрамлённое зеркальце и счёты с белыми и красными костяшками. Мазепа хотел объединить украинские земли в единое государство. На протяжении Великой северной войны он сначала поддерживал Россию, но затем сменил сторону и проиграл Полтавскую битву на стороне шведской армии.
Українська: Дзеркало і рахівниця, що належали гетьману Мазепі. Початок XVIII століття (?) Дерево, шкіра, скло, кістка. За легендою, коробочка отримана з намету Івана Мазепи (1639-1709) після Полтавської битви 1709 року. Дерев'яна коробочка має обрамлене дзеркальце і рахівницю з білими і червоними кісточками. Мазепа хотів об'єднати українські землі в єдину державу. Протягом Великої північної війни він спочатку підтримував Росію, але потім змінив сторону і програв Полтавську битву на боці шведської армії. |
