Aboriginal Scar Tree & Gymea Lily

Summary[edit]

Description
English: A beautiful example of an Aboriginal scar tree from the Dharawal Country, immediately south of Sydney. Alongside this Dharawal artifact stands the iconic Gymea Lily, a botanical species endemic to only the Sydney region. The Gymea Lily is of high importance to the Aboriginal people of this region as a resource for both food and weaving materials, as well as being a significant marker in their annual calendar.
