Summary[edit]

Description

"Abraham Lincoln was born in the slave state of Kentucky in 1809. His parents, church, and schooling, however, led him to write the editor of a Kentucky newspaper in 1864, 'I am naturally anti-slavery. If slavery is not wrong, nothing is wrong. I can not remember when I did not so think, and feel.'" (Lincoln Birthplace National Historic Site, Kentucky)
