'Abyssinia - Frontier Region between Blue Nile and Lake Rudolf.' - War Office ledger. Created by 'Major Austin and Lt. Gwynn, R.E.'
Description
Documents an expedition to survey the frontier region between Abyssinia and Anglo-Egyptian Sudan for the purposes of boundary delimitation. Portrays hydrology, relief by form lines and spot heights, settlements, place names, tribal names and potential boundary alignments. Austin and Gwynn were assisted by Captain R.G.T. Bright and Lieutenant L.C. Jackson.The maps were used to compile a 2-sheet series I.D.W.O. 1492(a) and (b) dated 1900 and filed at Maps MOD IDWO 1492.
