Acu-moxa chart, ophthalmology, Chinese MS
Title
Acu-moxa chart, ophthalmology, Chinese MS
Description

In Chinese medicine, yingfeng lenglei(wind dependent cold watering eyes) is a pathology characterised by profuse lacrimation when the eyes are exposed to wind. It is treated with herbal drugs, often in conjunction with acupuncture and moxibustion. In the illustration, we see a female patient in half profile. With head averted and eyes half closed, protecting herself from the wind with a fan, she expresses in her whole attitude the suffering caused by this illness. The main acupoints used in treatment are marked on her body, i.e.cuanzhu(Gathered Bamboo), located between the brows, andhegu(Joining the Valley),xiao gukong(Small Grain Cavity),da gukong(Great Grain Cavity) on the hands.
