Woodblock illustration from a work on 'Chinese' medicine by the 18th century Japanese physician Hara Masakatsu, published in 1807 (4th year of the Bunkwa era). The small intestine channel of hand taiyang is one of the Twelve Channels. It originates at theshaoze(Lesser Marsh) point on the outer edge of the hand and terminates at thetinggong(Palace of Hearing) point on the face. There are 18 acu-moxa locations on this channel on either side of the body, i.e. 36 altogether. For list of point names, see 'Lettering'. Wellcome Images |
