Line drawing in ink and brush style from an anonymous manuscript probably dating from the end of the Qing period (1644-1911).Yinqiao mai(Yin Heel Vessel) is one of the Eight Extraordinary Channels (Qi jing ba mai). Originating in the heel, it runs upward via the inner ankle, and meetschongmai(Penetrating Vessel) at the throat. Acu-moxa locations on this channel includezhaohai(Shining Sea) andjiaoxin(Exchange Letters). According to current teaching, pathological changes in the channel cause somnolence. Wellcome Images |
