| Description |
Engage with stories of those who have helped shape New Zealand’s military aviation journey and reflect on the service and sacrifice of thousands of New Zealanders who have served in the Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF). Located on the former Wigram Base, the national museum of the RNZAF and New Zealand military aviation officially opened on 1 April 1987 as part of the celebrations for the 50th anniversary of the RNZAF. The national collection of the RNZAF includes objects, documents and photographs covering the history of New Zealand military aviation, from World War One to the present. View 30 aircraft throughout a display area of approximately 5,000m2. The Museum also encompasses 14,000m2 of storage and workshop space across six buildings. |
