Nederlands: Ontwerp voor een Heilig Hartmonument in Tilburg (1917), van beeldhouwer Albert Verschuuren. "BIJ DE VOORLOOPIGE ONTWERPEN -VOOR EEN MONUMENT VAN HET H. HART TE TILBURG. Zooals men, weet bestaan, er in Tilburg plannen, om, op eender openbare pleinen van de stad, een monument van het H. Hart van Jezus op te richten. Hierboven geven we eender voorloopige ontwerpen van dit monument door den Tilburgschen schilder-beeldhouwer Albert Verschuuren. Het is een geheel vrijstaand monument met een vierkant grondplan. Uit het massale voetstuk rijst een architectonische bouw van vier pijlers omhoog, die een met donkergroen gekleurde tegels bekieeden koepel schragen. De achterwand is gesloten en met witte en kleurige tegels bezet. In deze nisvormige ruimte staat de beeltenis van het H. Hart. Het is een eenvoudig beeld, oorspronkelijk en modern van opvatting en gevoel. Streng geplooid is het ruime gewaad, terwijl de armen met een breed gebaar, vol uitnoodiging om toch tot Hem te komen, omlaag gestrekt zijn. De zielvolle blik der oogen omvat u en houdt u in «en voortdurende bekoring gevangen. De ontwerper stelde zich dit beeld voor uitgevoerd in lichtgeel-kleurige wat verglaasde terra-cotta. De architectonische omsluitihg is van natuursteen gedacht, afgewisseld door, met het bloemmotief der jasmijn, geornamenteerde tegelbanden. Inde kapiteelen der pijlers is een ornamentatie van vijf rozen aangebracht als symbool der vijf wonden. Als symboliek is in het algemeen de verdeeling van vijf overal doorgevoerd, terwijl ook de versieringsmotieven als symbool bedoeld zijn, zooals b.v. de jasmijn, een bloem van aangenamen geur en eenvoud, zoowel in kleur als verdeeling."
