Notes "Dürer drew the portrait of his wife at the end of his journey to the Netherlands, which lasted from 1520 to 1521 and was accompanied by Agnes and the maid Susanna. In the handwritten, pen-applied inscription above the portrait, he not only mentions the place of origin. He even remarks explicitly that his wife does not wear her traditional Nuremberg costume, but the local Dutch one"[1]
