English: There is evidence for varying degrees of self-sorting among Dictyostelid species. Cells bearing the same alloreceptors preferentially bind to one another in an aggregate and thus may increase relatedness (and thereby reduce the opportunity for cheating) within developing fruiting bodies by sorting kin into distinct regions of the aggregate. |
