Summary[edit]

Description

English: "Guests crowded around Hitler signing autographs", guests (members of the Nazi party, etc.) at a banquet (festive evening) in the Old Town Hall in Munich on June 29, 1935 in connection with the topping out ceremony during the construction of the House of German Art as a Nazi propaganda building.
  • Depicted people:
    • Adolf Hitler (1889 – 1945), leader of Nazi Party (NSDAP) from 1921 and Nazi Germany 1933 – 1945
etc.
  • The Old Town Hall (German: Altes Rathaus), until 1874 the domicile of the municipality, serves today as a building for representative purposes for the city council in Munich. The Old Town Hall bounds the central square Marienplatz on its east side.
  • The Haus der Kunst (German: House of Art) is a non-collecting modern and contemporary art museum in Munich, Germany. It is located at Prinzregentenstraße 1 at the southern edge of the Englischer Garten, Munich's largest park. The building was constructed from 1933 to 1937 following plans of architect Paul Ludwig Troost (1878 – 1934) as Nazi Germany's first monumental structure of Nazi architecture and as Nazi propaganda. The museum, then called Haus der Deutschen Kunst ("House of German Art"), was opened on 18 July 1937 as a showcase for what the Nazi Party regarded as Germany's finest art, with celebrations including a historical pageant and a military parade.
