Description |
English: A bunch of mixed state flags on a grass lawn near a large museum building The “America United: Field of Flags” was a new virtual experience for the 59th Presidential Inauguration to represent Americans who were unable to attend Inauguration Day events in person. An art display including 56 pillars of light and approximately 191,500 flags from every state and territory was set up on the National Mall from 3rd Street to 13th Street in areas where people traditionally gather for the Swearing-In Ceremony. The Field of Flags stood for a few days and was virtually displayed across the world on January 20, 2021. |
