Description America’s manufacturing base has grown for 11 straight months—with more than 135,000 manufacturing jobs created over the last six months. Durable goods orders rose 0.9 percent in May, excluding transportation. Industrial production, the output at the nation's factories, mines and utilities, rose 1.2 percent in May with factories ratcheting up production for the third month in a row.
