[edit]DescriptionAn F-22 Raptor being washed.jpg |
English: An F-22 Raptor gets a "bird bath" near the end of the runway here at the TYNDALL AIR FORCE BASE. Because of Tyndall's coastal location, corrosion is accelerated by the salty sea air. To combat this, the jets are washed on a daily basis to rinse off the salt residue and prevent corrosion. |
