Description
Deutsch: Andernach, Rheintor (Nordost), eine Doppeltoranlage, etwa aus der Zeit um 1200. Das Rheintor war eine der wichtigsten Anlagen der Stadtbefestigung. Im 15. Jahrhundert wurde das Außentor (Bild) umgebaut und erhielt einen neuen Oberbau auf Rundbogenfries und vorgekragte Ecktürmchen. Im 18. Jahrhundert wurde ein Mansarddach aufgesetzt. Im Innern der Toranlage stehen auf zwei Konsolen aus Tuff, Volksmund „Bäckerjungen“ genannt.
