Português: Andorinha do Mar em voo. Andorinhão, Apus pallidus brehmorum (Hartet 1901) Andorinha ou andorinhão-do-mar, Apus pallidus brehmorum (Hartert 1901). A informação existente sobre esta espécie no arquipélago é escassa, devido à dificuldade de a distinguir do Andorinhão-da-serra, embora este seja menor e de cauda mais bifurcada. De forma geral, está restrita às áreas de menor altitude da ilha da Madeira e, em especial, às falésias costeiras, nidificando em fendas de rochas, embora, por vezes, seja observada em locais afastados da costa e em bandos misturados com o Andorinhão-da-serra. Existem registos também da sua presença nas ilhas Selvagens. A subespécie A. p. brehmorum ocorre no Sul e Oeste da Europa, em grande parte do Norte de África e nos arquipélagos das Canárias e da Madeira. Difere no comprimento da asa e na coloração da plumagem, que é ligeiramente mais clara. A sua dieta é composta, essencialmente, por insetos voadores de tamanho médio. |
