Anglo-Saxon Zoomorphic Brooch Terminal
Description
English: A copper alloy zoomorphic terminal from an Anglo-Saxon cruciform brooch. The tip of the terminal is in the form of a flattened, almost circular 'snout'. Behind this the head broadens out slightly with two circular eyes at the lateral edges. Behind the eyes the head narrows again with two raised lateral bands across the neck. Behind this the terminal has a rough, patinated break. No traces remain of a pin or catchplate. The object is in fair condition, is 41mm long, 7mm wide, 4mm thick and weighs 4.66g
