Summary[edit]

Description
English: Ankylosing spondylitis of lumbosacral spine of a 52 year old lady. There is bilateral symmetrical sacroilitis. There is also sclerotic changes at the discovertebral junction. Syndesmphytes is found within each intervertebral discs. There is fusion of the spinous processes.There is also squaring of the anterior margin of the vertebral bodies instead of the usual concave margin. Lumbar lordosis and vertebral alignment are preserved. Rheumatoid factor and HLA-B27 is recommended for supplement the imaging findings of ankylosing spondylitis.
