Summary[edit]

Description
September 1917 in Dienst gestellt.

A working craft of typical Chesapeake Bay type, she was owned by the Conservation Commission of Maryland when the Navy took her over for World War I service in August 1917. During the next year, Anna B. Smith was assigned to the Fifth Naval District and served on Maryland and Virginia waters. She was decommissioned and returned to her owner in late November 1918.
