Россия. Санкт-Петербург. Благовещенская усыпальница.

Графиня, статс-дама. Старшая дочь князя A.M. Гагарина и баронессы Анны Петровны Шафировой.

С 1746 г. фрейлина великой княгини Екатерины Алексеевны. В «Записках» Екатерина II отзывается о княжне Гагариной как о наиболее преданной из всех приставленных к ней императрицей придворных дам.

В 1754 г. при помощи Елизаветы Петровны вышла замуж за Дмитрия Михайловича Матюшкина (1725-1800), возведенного в 1762 г. императором Австрии Францем I в графское достоинство. В день коронации Екатерины II (22.09.1762) пожалована в статс-дамы. Павел I в память службы ее при дворе его отца возвел ее в достоинство обер-гофмейстерины, а затем пожаловал в кавалерственные дамы ордена Св. Екатерины 1-го класса.

Сын Матюшкиной - граф Николай Дмитриевич (умер в 1775 холостым). Дочь Софья (1755-96) вышла замуж за графа Юрия Михайловича Виельгорского.
