Title
Annular buckle frame
Description
English: Cast copper alloy circular buckle frame dating from the medieval period, i.e. c. AD1200-1400. The frame is circular with a small recess in at one side for the pin which is missing today. In its place are the remains of a cu-alloy wire which may have acted as some kind of repair for the pin that would have been thicker and stronger than the wire. The frame has a rectangular cross section with a flat obverse and reverse. The obverse is decorated with seven (?) clusters of small punched dots arranged in three lines. Four of the clusters are still clearly visible; the other three are probably covered by corrosive lead/copper-alloy on the surface.
