Séc. XVI, 2ª metade - o trabalho escultórico das armas da Vila de Pinhel e o tipo de representação da esfera armilar sugerem ser o primeiro conjunto heráldico do Hospital Velho; séc. XVI e XVII o nicho em edícula e as armas do reino sugerem tratar-se de uma segunda marcação heráldica no edifício hospitalar. Existência de um nicho em edícula colocado entre as armas da vila de Pinhel, as armas do reino e pela sequência das quatro janelas rectangulares. As armas da Vila - o pinheiro - onde pousa o falcão e o coelho relevado junto das raízes da árvore - são acompanhadas, à esquerda; pela esfera armilar, também lavrada em alto relevo.
