DescriptionAntiochus VII coin (Mary Harrsch).jpg |
English: A coin of the Seleucid king Antiochus VII (138-129 BC) from the Christus Gardens collection in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Antiochus VII was the last Seleucid king of any influence. After his reign, the Seleucid Empire fell into a gradual and precipitous decline with a severe loss in territory and influence. It was finally conquered and transformed into a Roman province in 63 BC by Pompey. |
