Description
English: Antler

Knife Handle. Plano-convex side of the handle from a scale tang knife, with an expanded end; polished overall, and cut neatly at both ends. The flat side bears diagonal saw marks, and there is a series of four rivet holes of diameter 1.6mm for attachment. Scale tang knives became common from the later medieval period. Both the pinned fastening and form are characteristic of a slightly later date; suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1500-1600.

Length: 67.5mm, Width: 19.1mm, Thickness: 6.8mm, Weight: 7.77gms.
