I was in the poly-tunnel this afternoon, having had a miserable, rained off day up until then. I was turning over stuff, as I do and there's usually loads of Protaphorura armata knocking around, which have a habit of being curled up initially. On a twig, amongst around ten P. armata, there was one which was acting and looking a little different. So I had my suspicions it was A. granaria and as it turns out, it was. Very pleased, I was! Even though they're very common, they've only ever been photographed a few times, so that made it even more fun, trying to get some half decent photographs. Which wasn't easy as it didn't stop running. Ever. And it was bloody fast! And as soon as the flash hit, it changed direction and basically went the other way, out of shot. So it took a while. I got around ten seconds before I had to turn the twig again. I've made the first two photos in the comments clickable...
