Foi com D. João V que o aqueduto do Louriçal, uma obra setecentista, foi mandada edificar para reforçar o abastecimento de água ao Mosteiro do Santíssimo Sacramento e igualmente para a sua função de servir o chafariz público localizada na Rua do Castelo, outrora pertença do mosteiro, situando-se no quintal das Hospedarias do mesmo. Esta água provinha das nascentes de Pomar, próximo da localidade. O cargo desta importante obra foi atribuída ao Padre Manuel Pereira, especialista em estudos e levantamentos de arquitetura, a quem o Monarca confiava para as suas obras Reais. O aqueduto apresenta uma extensão de trezentos e cinquenta metros entre o local de origem e o convento, aproximadamente, composto por trinta e cinco arcos de volta perfeita formados por aduelas de tijolo, sendo suportados por pegões de planta quadrangular.
