Description Members of the Selective Service System Directorate (SSS) attend a ceremony honoring the 107th anniversary of the founding of the SSS in Section 7 of Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va., May 6, 2024. The ceremony was held at the gravesite of Gen. Lewis B. Hershey – the second and longest serving director of the SSS. During the ceremony, SSS Acting Director Joel Spangenberg gave remarks and laid a wreath at Hershey’s gravesite as part of the ceremony.
