The tubular Solid Oxide Fuel Cell 10 kW power unit exhibits high efficiency, a low acoustic signature, a low visible signature, and weighs approximately 960 pounds dry with a volume of 38 cubic feet. Comparatively the Army's 10 kW Tactical Quiet Generator Set weighs 1,100 pounds dry with a volume of 41 cubic feet.

Attending the demonstration were representatives from the Office of Naval Research, Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering, Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Operational Energy Plans and Programs, Naval Sea Systems Command, the Army Research Laboratory and the Army Test and Evaluation Command.

Following the demonstration CERDEC CP&I will begin a test and evaluation program to assess the unit's overall performance. The solution will be a part of the 2014 demonstrations under the Technology Capability Demonstration 4a for Sustainment and Logistics Basing.
