Summary[edit]

Description
English: Exhibit in the Arquebus World War II History Museum (Norwegian: Arquebus krigshistorisk museum) in Tysvær municipality, Norway, with mannequins in uniforms and equipment used by the German military forces (Wehrmacht) during Nazi Germany's attack on and occupation of Norway in the Second World War 1940–1945:
  • Military uniform cap for an officer in the Luftwaffe, the air force of Nazi Germany 1935–1945, with cap insignia, etc.
  • Officers' peaked cap (German: Schirmmütze) with blue-grey, high-fronted, saddle-shaped crown, black cap band, and visor.
  • Embroidered aluminum wire bullion cap insignia consisting of the German national emblem and colours:
    • Luftwaffeadler ("Luftwaffe eagle", Fliegender Adler), the "flying" Luftwaffe version of the Third Reich Reichsadler (German imperial/state eagle) national emblem. The wellknown eagle-and-swastika (Hakenkreuzadler) was adopted as national and military coat-of-arms from the Nazi Party emblem (Parteiadler, "party eagle"); also called Hoheitszeichen ('national emblem'), Hoheitsadler ("national eagle") Mützenadler ("cap eagle"), or Wehrmachtsadler ("eagle of the armed forces"). See identification guide for visor cap insignia of organizations in Nazi Germany 1933 – 1945 at www.germandaggers.com.
    • National tri-colour cockade/roundel (Reichskokarde) and oakleaf wreath and stylized wings device (Mützenkranz mit Schwinge, Schwingen, Mützenanstecker, Abzeichen)
  • Piping (Paspel, Paspelierung, trim) along the edges of the cap band and crown in corps colour of the Luftwaffe (Waffenfarbe der Luftwaffe)
  • Cord (Mützenkordel) for officers (plain chin strap for Wehrmacht EM/NCO)
