As van de bij Bombay verongelukte Amerikaanse journalisten op Schiphol; Weekjournaal van Polygoon Hollands Nieuws van week 30 uit 1949.; Alle inzittenden van de KLM-Constellation 'Franeker', die bij Bombay in India verongelukt is, zijn om het leven gekomen. Onder de passagiers bevonden zich een aantal Amerikaanse journalisten. Van tien van hen zijn de urnen met hun as uit India overgevlogen naar Schiphol. SHOTS: - De KLM-Skymaster 'Edam' taxiet naar een, als chapelle ardente ingerichte, hangar; in de hangar wacht een gezelschap autoriteiten op het toestel; - de 'Edam' wordt de hangar binnengereden; enkele mannen verlaten één voor één plechtig het toestel, waarbij ieder één urn draagt, welke hij op een reusachtige, met kaarsen, bloemen en vlaggen versierde, katafalk plaatst; - als alle urnen op hun plaats staan, worden er kransen gelegd bij de katafalk, oa door de Amerikaanse ambassadeur, dr. H. Baruch, en de Nederlandse minister van Buitenlandse Zaken, mr. D.U. Stikker.
