Description

Plan of the Queens Asylum at Lincoln sketch engraved by Harrison. Lincoln Castle and Cathedral are readily recognizable at the top, as is the colonnaded façade of The Lawns, the house used as an asylum. A large cricket ground, as shown here, was a feature of English lunatic asylums
