Description
Deutsch: Attendorn, Kölner Straße 40. Stolperstein für Jakob Josef Herbert Ursell (07.03.1926–04.08.1942). Seine Eltern waren der Fabrikant Albert Ursell und Else Ursell geb. Hentschel. Als der Vater 1928 verstarb, wohnte Herbert mit seinem Bruder Günther und der Mutter zunächst noch in der Villa an der Kölner Straße. Bruder Günther verließ schon 1937 Attendorn in Richtung Frankfurt. Als das Leben für Else und Herbert Ursell in Attendorn immer unerträglicher wurde, hielten sie sich in der Folgezeit in Köln und München bei Bekannten auf. Um eine letzte Ausreisemöglichkeit zu nutzen, heiratete seine verwitwete Mutter in München am 26. Juni 1940 den verwitweten Geschäftsmann Max Kaufmann. Die beabsichtigte Ausreise zerschlug sich aber. Seine Mutter und der Stiefvater wurden am 23. Juli 1942 nach Theresienstadt deportiert, wo sie im Ghetto wohnten und als Zwangsarbeiter beim Straßenbau gesehen worden sein sollen. Beide kamen am 28. Oktober 1942 ins KZ Auschwitz und wurden dort ermordet. Herbert Ursell wurde am 03. April 1942 aus München nach Osten evakuiert (Ghetto Piaski) und am 04. August 1942 im KZ Majdanek ermordet.
