Deutsch: "Hochseltene und frühe Darstellung eines österreichischen Marineoffiziers aus der Anfangszeit der österreichischen Marine. Nach dem Frieden von Campo Formio 1797 fiel die venezianische Flotte in österreichischen Besitz. Die Offiziere stammten anfangs hauptsächlich aus dem venezianischen Teil der Monarchie. Die Uniformierung war kaum normiert, der Offizier ist einzig durch sein schwarz-gelbes Portepee am Bordsäbel als solcher zu identifizieren."
