Description
English: A two disc lead seal with connector strip, 17th century in date.

The front disc is stamped with an 'A' for Augsburg and is surrounded by four annulets and a pellet at the centre. The A means this cloth came from Augsburg, Germany, specifically for fustian made there.

The original function of cloth seals was a mark of quality for textiles,
